Dr. Bharatish A.
He is an assistant professor at mechanical engineering department, RV College of Engineering, Karnataka, India. He obtained PhD in the year 2015 from VTU, Belagavi in the area of Laser Drilling of Ceramics and Ceramic Coatings. He completed his Post- Doctoral fellowship from IIT Madras in 2018 in the area of femtosecond laser machining of light weight metals. He has completed the funded research projects from VGST, Bengaluru, AR&DB, New Delhi and SERB-DST, New Delhi. He is the recipient of Young Scientist Award, VGST, Govt of Karnataka and Young Researcher Award, ISTE-RVCE chapter. He has also achieved outstanding reviewer awards from Journal of Measurement (Elsevier) and JOLT (Elsevier). His fields of major scientific interest in order of choice: laser surface texturing of aerospace materials; laser drilling of ceramics and ceramic coatings; laser ablation of high temperature materials; and evaluation of thermal residual stresses during laser drilling process. His research area includes laser, machining, and ceramics.
